I need information from a soccer website. I need the statistics of soccer matches to be inserted into a MySQL database.
Ok, I take as example the match of Yeavil v Leeds. This game was played a while back! http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com/team?id=284. That is the home page of Yeovil, I got to it through Live Scores -> All Scores. You see, amongst others:

Lloyd Owusu 9 Jermaine Beckford 20
W-L-L-D-L Form W-L-W-W-W
There is the form from both teams. Then I go to the last match they played(on the right side of the site).
I click on the result of the last match to see the stats of the last match Leeds played. http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com/match?id=220937&cc=5739. That is what I see.
So I already have the form of the last 5 matches that both teams played. I also have the data from the last match Grays played. Now I only need the data from the last match of Leeds. I simply go back to the page with the match of Yeovil and click on their opponent, Leeds. Then I click on their last match and use that data.
As I see it, you need to get the ID's from all the english clubs(they seem to be static) and work from there. Yeovil for example if ID=284.
My plan was to have the data inserted into a mySQL table, something like: Club1 - Club2 - Shot_on_target_club1 - Shots_on_target_club1_opponent
- Shot_on_target_club2 - Shots_on_target_club2_opponent - posession_club1 - posession_club2 - form_club1 - form_club2.
An example would be: Yeovil - Leeds - 7 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 50 - 55 - 6 - 8. (these numbers are made up!)
IMPORTANT: It is preferred if the programmer can be online in my timezone: GMT+1 ALSO: A good understanding of the english language is preferred. |
